I have owned my Ranger for just over a year and this is the first e-bike I have owned so nothing to compare it with. That said the bike has a real feel of quality about it and I really enjoy riding it. I actually bought it at an ex-demonstrator so it came fully assembled, and with a few miles on the clock, so don’t know how easy they are to assemble if bought new. I did have a small problem just after I bought it, something on the electrical side went wrong a part had to be replaced but this was all dealt with under warranty and has been fine ever since. I cycle up to 60 km at a time over some hilly terrain and because I like to think I am relatively fit, only use the assist mode when I reach a hill or if there is a strong head wind and I fancy a bit of help, typically I use 15-20% of the battery on any one ride. It really is a joy to ride and you can make it as hard or easy as you want simply by using the assist more or less. In my opinion this would make a great commuter bike. I’ve fitted a small bag to the rack so can take all the basics out on ride and if I need a bit more capacity have a small rucksack too. As an aside, I was parked up having a coffee just recently and a couple walked passed and commented on how good the bike looked, not to me just to each other as they walked by and I agree it does look good. All in all not a bad word to say about the bike just looking forward to my next ride.
